Welcome to the month of May 2013 – Our month of Glory! The
word of the Lord that came to me for this Month is found in the book of
2Cor.3:18 which read:
“But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the
Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.”
The word translated glory is the Hebrew word “Kabod” which
means weight figuratively in a positive sense; it also means honour, splendor
or copiousness. The Greek word translated glory which is the same as in our
text scripture here is “Doxa” and it means dignity, honor, praise and worship.
When these two translations are put together, they bear the sense of the
manifest presence of God. In other words, the presence of God is positively
weighty, splendorous, dignified, and honorable to the point of generating
praise and worship from deep within us. The result is that in many cases, human
bodies cannot bear the weight of His glory standing. This explains why when
God’s manifest presence or glory comes into our gatherings, some people or all
in the gathering are slain in the Spirit.
The glory of God also carries a sense of such brilliance that
never leaves us the same. It is so powerful that it has the ability to cause
miracles like healings and creative miracles to take place. The glory of God
has such a multiplying effect that it has the ability to make the barren
fruitful and the carnal become spiritual. This is because of its transforming
ability as indicated in our text scripture.
However, for the glory of God to bring about our much needed
change, we must cultivate it through gratitude and praise like Jesus did and
was able to speak a blessing that multiplied five loaves and two fishes to feed
five thousand men besides women and children and had some basket full of the
food in excess in Luke 9:16-17 & John 6:10-13. Secondly, we must behold the
glory in the word of God without any pretensions before the Spirit who brings
about the transformation in our lives through the word of God we keep before
our eyes and allow into us through our ears and release His power through our
speech.
In light of the foregoing, this month, by way of spiritual
diet, we shall be seeing how to apply the word of God for the release of His
glory that would bring about our promised transformation from glory to glory.
You may be reading this article now and finding it
interesting, but you are not born again even though you desire this kind of
blessing we are talking about. I have good news for you. You can partake of
this blessing if you will meet the condition of receiving Jesus Christ into
your heart as your Saviour and Lord. It is the simplest thing you can do
because this life is only a prayer away from you. If you want to actualize this
blessing in your life, then say the following prayer out loud in faith to God
and the Holy Spirit will take you up from there and make you a new creation.
Heavenly father,
Have mercy on me a sinner. I repent of my sin and receive the
sacrifice of Jesus Christ on Calvary’s cross for my salvation. I believe He
died for me and on the third day, you raised Him from the dead for my
salvation. From today, I receive Him as the Saviour and Lord of my Life.
Thank you father for forgiving me and writing my name in the book
of life with the blood of Jesus. I pledge allegiance to the Lord Jesus Christ
from this day forever in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Amen!!!
