THREE MEASURES OF MEAL pt.1

One day the Lord Jesus Christ was teaching the multitude of people in parables. His disciples did not understand some of them. They sought to know the meaning of the parables. This gave the Lord the opportunity to teach them something that has become a great lesson for us in this dispensation as we approach the end of the age of the Gentiles.
The Lord told them that it is given unto you (He was addressing His disciples here) to know the mysteries or the secrets of the Kingdom of Heaven. He further let them understand that these things are too precious for those without. I believe they are concealed from others for the glory of the Church who is expected to show principalities and powers the manifold wisdom of God. See Mt.13:10 –11; Eph.2:10-11.
In this simple parable, The Lord told His disciples that The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened. It is a two line parable packed with insights for the disciple of Christ.
I observe that unlike the parable of the wheat and Tares and the parable of the sower; the Lord did not interpret this. So I sought the Lord to know the meaning and how it affects discipleship. Here is what He told me.
Man is a triune person. He is spirit. He has a soul and lives in a body. See 1Thess.5:23; Heb.4:12 and 1Sam.1:15 where Hannah said she was a woman of sorrowful spirit who was pouring out her soul before the Lord. In this example, Hanna is here physically in her body saying these words to Eli about possessing a soul and spirit.
The meal which the woman took was divided into three parts. The yeast according to the Lord is doctrine or teaching. See Mk.8:15; Mt.16:11-12; Lk.12:1.
Where the Lord interpreted yeast as doctrine, He also makes understand that there are qualities of doctrine. There he was telling us which doctrine to beware of. As a matter of fact He said the doctrine of the Pharisees and scribes is hypocrisy. We are to beware of these. To be a hypocrite is to pretend to be what you are not. For example, no Pastor in the secret cult would be straight forward because people are actually looking for the true God. Once they know you are fake, they would leave you. Thus such pastors have to pretend to be real. All they teach you that way, is hypocrisy. They cannot be real and remain because they are already committed to the cult to which they belong. They can say all the right things but no power to back it up for you to be able to bear the fruit of the spirit. At the end of the day, people’s lives are not changed in their congregations. As time goes on, they would not be able to give attention to sound doctrines as they would have buried their heads under a pack of lies which they depend on to keep their money rolling in. These are the people that Apostle Paul refers to as having another Jesus, another spirit and another gospel. They are prophets of Baal. See 2Cor.11:4. Why I call them prophets of Baal is that they are operating by the anti – Christ spirit because they were once of Christ but a time came in their lives they had to make a decision to follow Christ but because of the wealth and influence it would have cost them, they preferred to go on with their evil practices than repent. The Lord left them and Satan came to take over their lives and now they are anti-Christ or against Christ. Thus instead of promoting the Lord who died for them, they are coming up with very intelligent ways to fight His bride. Their Churches are now Churches of the Harlot of Babylon and their congregants are getting more and more disillusioned with life and living. They are full of activities without effectiveness. Their congregants are like zombies without the true Christ and God is now made to look like He lies when God is still the same God who cannot lie. These people are very good examples of Jezebel and Ahab deceiving themselves to think they can repent any time they want to not knowing that every purpose is timed with God. Jesus Christ referred to them as white washed sepulchres and told them to fill up the measure of their iniquity. All the Lord is waiting for now before exposing them is for them to fill up the measure of their iniquity. See Mt.23:23-29 quoted below:
“23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
Mat 23:24  Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel.
Mat 23:25  Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess.
Mat 23:26  Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.
Mat 23:27  Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness.
Mat 23:28  Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.
Mat 23:29  Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous,
Mat 23:30  And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.
Mat 23:31  Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets.
Mat 23:32  Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers.
Mat 23:33  Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?
Mat 23:34  Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:
Mat 23:35  That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.
Mat 23:36  Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation.
I decided to lift this out of the Bible verse by verse for us to see that the end of the time of the Gentiles to take the gospel around the world is upon us but many of God’s former trusted servants have been bewitched into disobedience. My prayer is that the ones whose conscience can still be pricked among us should come out of secret sins, declare their sins to the entire world and openly repent so that God can still use them. Otherwise they would have to make do with perdition because the pack of lies under which they have faithfully taken refuge is about to crumble on them by the hail stones of the Lord.
Please fellow ministers, do not allow the devil to deceive you, God cannot be mocked; you must reap what you sow. Signs and wonders are not the sole proof of ministerial authentication; you have to bear the fruit of the spirit. Not for show, but from the heart. You may need to change who you call your mentor or spiritual father and be rejected by family and friends and even some of your protégés but your soul can still be spared damnation. Repent!!!
In the next part of this message, we shall be looking at the qualities of leaven the proverbial woman can possibly mix with the meal and the result they could bring about in the life of the consumers.
Let me close here by quickly saying that I know you are of the view that a woman should not be allowed to preach and teach. Please forgive me if you consider me too forward but His word within me is as fire in my bones. When I say I would not speak, it burns within me as fire in my bones. So please hear and do as our mutual Lord Jesus Christ desires:
Jer. 20:9 Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.

HE PAID DEARLY FOR IT

HE PAID DEARLY FOR IT
Many considered him weird as they saw him searching dustbin after dustbin in search of what they could not understand. By the way this man was the wealthiest and most respected person in this community and everyone looked up to him for the right answer and solution to all their problems. He owned the only school in the town and wrote all the books used in the school. He was responsible for supplying light and water to the community because he owned the machinery used for drilling their boreholes and all the vehicles for haulage including the haulage of cranes.
All of a sudden, he came out searching all the bins in town all day from morning to night not talking to anyone. Another weird thing about this rich man was that at the end of each day, he went back home with a look of disappointment on his face. Many thought he had lost his mind but the strange thing was that even though he was not talking to people, he still had the courtesy of exchanging greeting with the people around him.
Then, he suddenly stopped searching in the bins; he began to dig around town. No one bothered to stop him because in spite of his wealth, he treated people kindly and was particularly interested in their general welfare. His kindness made him to charge only time for his services to them not bothering about the money since he already owned everything.
Then one day he came home rejoicing and calling for a party requesting the entire community to be in attendance because He finally found what he had been tirelessly looking for. By the way his search had turned from months to years and then to hundreds of years and now about four thousand years.
Guess what this great man found eventually; on a parcel of land in his back yard was a piece of ground where; while prospecting, he found that the land potentially could generate more wealth than the entire world if properly cultivated. He knew his search was over and this became a crown of his efforts.
In Matthew 13:44, we read: “again the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath and buyeth that field.”
Several years ago in Bethlehem of Judea in Israel, a Savour was born without the involvement of a man. He was called the Son of God because his birth came in fulfilment of words spoken on behalf of God to a virgin which words were preceded by a previous prophecy. The virgin believed and the word was converted to a human being in her womb without sex. See Isa.7:14; Isa.9:6-7; Mt.1:18-25; Lk.1:26-37 Jn.1:1&14
Like the angel told Joseph, the mission of the Saviour was to save the lost from their sins. Sin is really the biggest question of man. Take sin away from man, like the treasure in our story above, he has the capacity to generate all the wealth on earth. Sin cost man his place and he came under the influence of the devil also known as the wicked for a while. This explains the evil and sorrows on earth today. God has nothing to do with it. On the contrary, God has since provided the solution to the crisis of man. He is a person; his name is Jesus Christ. As the word also foretold his birth, his death and resurrection was also foretold and they came to pass. Likewise his return to the earth as the judge was also foretold and they are about to come to pass. When he comes to judge; he will also come to reign on earth as the king of kings and Lord of Lords until the end determined by the father when the final judgement called the white throne judgement will come to pass.
On the final day, there will be a distinction between His disciples and others. If you have not yet received Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord because He is man’s solution provided by God, you will not be like the treasure found by the rich man in our story, you will be lost forever. This is not because he stopped loving and seeking you, but because of his justice. Without the shedding of blood there can be no remission of sin. So his blood was shed so sin was forgiven. See Ps.22:1, 16-18; Isa.53; Mt.8:14-17; 1Pet.2:24; Heb.9:22; Mt.:16:21; Mk.8:31; Lk.9:22; Lk.17:20-37; Rev.15:11-21; Rev.20:1-15 and Rev.22:12-13.
If you remain unsaved until death, you will be lost forever and that is not what you want. You can avert that death sentence today by saying the prayer below and you will be saved:
Heavenly Father,
Have mercy on me a sinner. Today, I believe that Jesus died for me and you raised Him from the dead for my Justification. I therefore declare that Jesus Christ is my Saviour and Lord and from today, I renounce the fatherhood of Satan and embrace Jesus Christ as my Saviour and Lord. Thank you for this father in Jesus’ name! Amen.

AS IT WAS IN THE DAYS OF NOAH

AS IT WAS IN THE DAYS OF NOAH
In Matthew 24:37-42 we read: But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.
From here we can learn the following truths about the days of Noah and compare our current world events with it.
1.      Mt.24:38 - People were eating and drinking just like in the ordinary course of life.
2.      They were getting married and conducting marriage ceremonies just like in the ordinary course of life.
3.      Simply put, they were living their lives oblivious of the spirit realm.
4.      Then Noah entered the Ark.
5.      Because they never believed Noah, they could not receive the word of the Lord. They therefore were not watching to see when Noah entered the Ark before God sent them the flood. They all got trapped in the rain and were drowned. This was a sad surprise for them because they did not believe Noah’s message. This is the way the world is right now.
The Lord has announced His soon return but many are still sceptical. They do not believe. The three main religions on earth today have three diverse views of His return. They all agree he is coming soon but are in disagreement as to who the Messiah would be.
Please understand that the Messiah first came about 2,000 years ago as a poor Carpenter unknown to many until God concluded His preparation for Ministry through His parents and John the Baptist and all the other mentoring in-between. He submitted to the Baptism of John and was immediately driven by the Holy Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. No guile was found in Him. Then He was graciously released into public Ministry but was restricted to Israel where He was eventually crucified in Jerusalem on a hill called Golgotha; based on false accusations against him by the then religious rulers who were envious of him.
At that time, He said He came to lay down His life that He may take it up again. He who knew no sin laid down His life and our sins were nailed on him on the Cross so that the body of sin might be taken away from as many as would believe in Him. Jn.3:16-19; Rm.6:4-11 and Jn.10:17-18.
Sadly, the flood of the new age is sweeping many away and causing a great falling away from the faith that may likely drown some in perdition if they do not repent. Also, some have covenanted with death and hades and decided to hide themselves under the covering of falsehood claiming the flood would not touch them. See Isa.28:1-22. I pray dear reader that you will be exempted from this judgement through genuine repentance.
When we believe this message, we can show our faith in His word below by saying this prayer and getting baptized. Baptism is the means by which we express our faith and submit to the Lord Jesus Christ in faith and look forward to His soon return with joy:
Heavenly Father,
Have mercy on me a sinner. Today, I believe that Jesus died for me and you raised Him from the dead for my Justification. I therefore declare that Jesus Christ is my Saviour and Lord and from today, I renounce the fatherhood of Satan and embrace Jesus Christ as my Saviour and Lord. Thank you for this father in Jesus’ name! Amen.

Welcome to the month of June 2019: Our Month of The El Shaddai

Beloved family; meaning, as many as have chosen to make the Lord Jesus Christ Our redeemer who died on Calvary’s Cross about two thousand years ago Saviour and Lord over their lives, I welcome you to this great month which the Lord has decided to name after himself – The El Shaddai. You will find our text in Gen.17:1. When God was about to fulfill a longstanding promise to Abraham, He gave him this word and entered a covenant of Circumcision with him. Abraham obeyed him and their covenant was cut which resulted in the Lord Jesus Christ the seed of promise. Since He came, the world has never been the same. All who receive him and choose to worship the Lord in spirit and in truth are blessed along with faithful Abraham. Gal.3:16 & 4:29.
I observe also from this discourse of Abraham and God that there was no third party involvement; meaning it was for Abraham to whom the Lord made the promise twenty four years earlier that the promise was to be fulfilled. Even the mistake of Abraham in incorporating Hagar into the family was not able to annul God’s plan.
Today as I write, I can very much identify with Abraham in my experience. I have also come to terms with the truth that God is no respecter of persons. This entire experience led me into studying the book of the beginnings very well and God clarified many things to me that would have left me confused had I not discovered them. God is indeed no respecter of persons. If he places you where you should deal fairly with people irrespective of their status, it behooves you to deal righteously. From my findings, I saw that the people to whom the oracles of God are committed are to stand for the truth no matter how the accuser may try to rubbish them. I made up my mind to do that irrespective of the slander and sorcery of the wicked.
In the course of this journey, God opened me up to a truth He had been communicating to me for years which I found difficult to absorb because of the traditions I met growing up [Mt.15:3, 6; Mk.7:9 & 13].
I believe this time around, God is opening Himself up to the entire world for whosoever will fall in line with him to embrace based on what the Lord Jesus Christ already accomplished for us on Calvary’s Cross.
Please understand that God’s commandments never changed; they are still the Ten Commandments written by His hand to Moses. What changed are the means of the actualization of these commandments before people can enjoy the benefits. At first, there was the building of the first Tabernacle in the wilderness which of course did not set aside the promise to Abraham made four hundred and thirty years prior. The failure of this method brings us to the conclusion that the doing of God’s word took more than the observance of carnal practices.
God sent prophets to warn the people over and over again, but they failed because of the lack of power to deliver. So God promised in Ezekiel 36:24-27 to write the commandments in our hearts through sending the Holy Spirit into our hearts. He fulfilled this in Christ Jesus about 2,000 years ago. [Acts 2:1-4 & Rm.6:4-14] Over the years, man has been able to walk in the newness of life who truly walks in the reality that Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the Law by becoming a curse for us on the Tree. See Gal.3:13-14 and Rm.8:13 and thus brought us under the blessing of Abraham as we received the promise of the Holy Spirit.
In spite of all of the activities of Apostle Paul and the other founding fathers of the faith, there still remains a rest for the people of God that would take us who have believed to enter into. This rest is found in the dependence on the Holy Spirit and the word of God to obey God’s word. See Heb.4:6-13 – this text teaches that we must enter that rest as God did when He finished His work of creation. See Gen.2:1-3, Exod.20:8-11; Ezek.20:10-20. This is very specifically referring to the covenant of the creator with His creation. The weekly day of the Sabbath never changed from the seventh to the first; it is still the Sabbath observed by the Lord Jesus Christ and all the apostles and early Church fathers before the government of Rome changed it in 320AD to Sunday in honor of the worship of the Roman Sun god. See Matt.28:1 – The resurrection day was the first day of the week and it does not in any way change God’s commandment to rest on the seventh.
Since God made the law, only He has the power to change it. Man cannot. For a clearer understanding of this truth, I want to recommend to you; a book titled: National Sunday Law by A. Jan Marcussen.
His word is still the Ten Commandments uncorrupted. This is what the Lord preached; he simply clarified to us that motives rank higher in divine assessments of our claims of obedience. See Mt.5:17-18.
As we approach the end of time, we should revisit the commandments and we would observe that the Lord came to show us how to fulfill it by example and tidied it up at the Cross so that as many as would look to the Cross in their hearts through His word; can be saved just like the children of Israel had to do in the wilderness when Moses lifted up the Serpent for them to look at and be freed from the Serpent’s venom. Since Calvary, all who look to the Lord Jesus Christ are thus saved from the venom that causes us to sin. See Jn.1:16-18 – This is the reason why I believe that baptism which is the means of identifying with the Lord Jesus Christ in His death, burial and resurrection is not optional if you want to walk in righteousness and true holiness. It has the power to remove the weight of the flesh and enable you to rise above the tide of this world to live the life God wants you to live as you depend on His ability.
Please understand that this Cross is not physical; so carrying idols around in the name of the cross does not really help you; no matter the lying sign you may get. Please do not confuse any fake miracles for Divine authentication. Thankfully, the truth is open to all and we all have access to the Holy Spirit by faith in Christ Jesus. See Rm.7 and 8. Man is carnal by nature sold under sin and therefore always would fall at any commandment. What God did in Christ was to show us the way of dependence on God for living right rather than trying to do it ourselves. This can only be by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. See Ephe.1:17-21 and 2:1-10 – Salvation raises our status to sit together in Christ far above principalities and powers and every name that is named in this world and that which is to come. However, obedience can make one look weak sometimes and is usually unattractive most of the time but it always pays in the long haul when it is done from the heart and with the right motive.
Thus all the revelation we have been receiving especially in discipleship is how to have victory over the flesh so that we can become more and more like the Lord Jesus Christ as shown us in John 15. The more like Him we become, the more victorious we are in this wicked world. Let us labour to find out more about Him so that we can live the life He has ordained for us and fulfill our destinies in him.
So far as believers in this part of the world where so much effort has entered into the spread of the gospel, we would think that we have it all made especially as we consider the level of influence we have attained to and the wealth we command. However, when we juxtapose our lives with the word of God, we would find many areas we would need to judge ourselves in.
In the course of looking at the book of Revelation for understanding what God’s program is for now considering we are in the last days, I saw written in Rev.12:17 that the Dragon was angry with the woman. I believe that woman stands for the Church born out of the nation of Israel through the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ on the Cross of Calvary about 2,000 years ago.
After His ascension to heaven, the Church has been fought by the dragon until this day. Now as the end draws nearer, the dragon is even angrier because he knows he has a short time and that the same way the Lord ascended to heaven, he would be returning for his bride and all eyes shall see him when he comes. By the way Rev.12:9 discloses that the dragon is the Devil also known as that ancient serpent.
In anger, the devil has spewed his flood of religion especially eastern religion to corrupt the Church through doctrinal errors so people would not be able to tell apart the holy from the profane. So far, the Church has defeated him on all grounds except for one and that is the fourth commandment.
Please observe that the remnant of the seed of the woman are those who keep God’s commandment and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. Meaning the Israelites who are now recognized by the Church body as the Messianic Jews and the Gentile Believers in Christ. Thus as a non-Jew, you must have subscribed to the testimony of Jesus Christ first through discipleship and then you can enter into the rest as commanded by God and not man. Man says we can do as we please but God lets us know that there is a way which seems right unto  men but the end thereof are the ways of death. See Prov.14:12; Gal.5:16-17 and Romans 8:5-8.
Thus as the beast makes plans to reawaken his rebellion against the true God, let us prepare our hearts to know that any carnal ordinance that comes to oppose the word of God should be resisted by our obedience to God. This will cost us our reputation. For instance, “as foolish yet making many wise” [2Cor.6:10]. The time has come for us to not love the world and the things that are in the world so as to prove our love for the father. See 1Jn.2:15-17 and 1Tim.6:6-12.
The days upon us are becoming more and more like the days of Noah than ever before but sadly many are still oblivious of the events that are playing out in the spirit realm and how more and more the politics of the world is fulfilling scriptures to the letter. Let us not forget the sons and daughters of who we are and fall in with the world because the coming of the Lord is nearer now than when we first began. What I mean here is that we are sons and daughters of the Most High God through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and His sacrifice on the Cross of Calvary about 2,000 years ago. God only recognizes His only begotten Son who He also refers to as His first begotten from the dead in spiritual parenting [Rev.1:5 and Heb.1:1-14]. Please note here that the Lord’s love for righteousness and hatred for iniquity is emphasized by the father here. The only recognition He gives to His earthly servant is the extent to which they follow in His steps [1Pet.2:20-25; 1Cor.11:1 & Eph.5:1-11].
I am sorry if this offends any of His servants; but please, there is still room for repentance now insteahd of waiting for it to be too late. This is just intended to make the contribution that God has sent me to make to His body rather than strive with any. I pray this is received in the love of God just like I am sharing it in His love. I have been reluctant to share this until this morning knowing that prolonging this will do more harm than good to His Church. Please see it as it; the word of God undiluted.
What He wants for us now is to enter into His rest properly and show it by honoring the day he blessed and sanctified for it which is the 7th day or Sabbath . Everyone who truly has the testimony of Jesus Christ would come to the realization that as simple as this commandment is, it is God’s mark of authority over His own. In the days to come, it would take one truly walking in the Spirit to be able to obey this commandment which; like the Holy Spirit, will seal your redemption. See Eph.1:13 and Rev 14:9-13. Thus this month, we shall be looking at teachings on spiritual growth by God’s grace. As we learn to grow in grace and the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ, we are preserved from the filth of the world and would not fall from our own steadfastness. 2Pet.3:18.
Please excuse my volume because this is one message that has generated so much controversy because the enemy of our souls wants us to be kept in the dark about this so that we can fall prey to his deception. Please take the time and look at the book: The National Sunday Law by A. Jan Marcussen I earlier suggested you get and read.
For Church leaders; this may be quite tough especially if you have been leading Churches with large numbers and spread far and wide. But please understand that you owe your members the obligation to tell them the truth so that you can also escape the wrath of God. Please see Rev.6 – those events are already occurring and the time has come for us to wash our garments with the blood of the lamb and the word of our testimony. Please prepare; if you get used to living as a disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ, then you will be able to stand in the days to come. Please read the word daily and do it. See Rm.12:1-2 & Jas.1:22. Please beware of the leaven of the Pharisees which is hypocrisy. Don’t feed on the leaven of Herod also, they tend to destruction in these end times. More would be published on this in my next message on my blog.
For you that is yet to have the testimony of Jesus Christ, all your purported obedience would be a nullity without first committing to the Lord Jesus Christ through the new birth experience. You can start right away by saying the following prayer out loud in faith and you will be born again then get baptized immediately and seek the infilling of the Holy Spirit and receive Him. Then commence to be trained as a disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ:
Heavenly Father,
Have mercy on me a sinner. Today, I believe that Jesus died for me and you raised Him from the dead for my Justification. I therefore declare that Jesus Christ is my Saviour and Lord and from today, I renounce the fatherhood of Satan plus his unfruitful works of darkness and embrace Jesus Christ as my Saviour and Lord. Thank you for this father in Jesus’ name! Amen.

What are The Benefits of the Joy of The Lord

Messages for April 2016: Our Month of unspeakable Joy
Message for the 10th of April 2015
Theme: Understanding the importance of the Joy of the Lord
Topic: What are the benefits of the Joy of the Lord?
Last week, we began this series by looking at what Joy is and we took the time to establish that it is also part of our entitlements in the covenant of grace. In explaining what Joy is, we also saw some of the characteristics of joy that distinguishes it from any other thing like happiness and natural zeal.
Today, we shall be looking at what we stand to benefit if we take advantage of this great grace of the joy of the Lord. Please understand that this great gift of God is meant for our good and part of the mystery keys of the kingdom of God that enables us to exercise dominion on earth until Jesus returns. No matter how much grace God makes available to you, your ability to take advantage of it is limited to your awareness and understanding of it. If for instance; you own money in the bank and are not aware of it, while the money will always be yours, you could remain in abject poverty if you are not aware of its existence and how to cash it. While looking at what joy is last week, we saw how it comes and from that we can gather that it is a gift of God and we can also generate it by staying with God until His word is revealed to us. John 15:11 and Isa.11:1-2.
The benefits of Joy
The word of God reveals the following benefits of joy among others to us:
1. The joy of the Lord is what makes your service of God acceptable in the kingdom especially when all your service is done joyfully. For instance, for your offerings and tithes to be acceptable to God, you have to give them willingly and cheerfully because God loves a cheerful giver [2Cor.9:7]. In truth, any kind of service you render to God must be joyfully done otherwise it would not be acceptable to God and therefore not be rewarded. This is because in God’s kingdom, only acceptable service is rewarded [Heb.12:28]. When you do not render service to the Lord joyfully, you risk serving your enemies in sorrow; lack, want etc. see Deu.28:47-48.
2. The joy of the Lord is a fruit of the recreated human spirit that proves your new birth status. With the joy of the Lord in you to the overflow, the enemy of our souls cannot mistake you for one of his own because this joy keeps him and his cohorts off you and yours just like fire keeps off wild beasts and prevents them from harming you. See 1Pet.1:8; Gal.5:22.
3. The joy of the Lord empowers us to bear fruit because the absence of joy causes barrenness. In Joel 1:12, we are told that everything around us can dry up and wither away if joy is not present in our lives. This is quite serious as there is an unleashing of the spirit of depression on people these days due mainly to lack of fulfilment rooted in their refusal to embrace the great salvation provided for them by the Lord. See Heb.2:2-4. The antidote to a situation like this is first to get saved and then make a choice like the prophet Habakkuk to rejoice in spite of your circumstances. Hab.3:17-19.
When Israel did this in 2Chron.20:1-24, their enemies were smitten before them by God. All they had to do was to cart away the spoils from the war they did not fight.
4. Helps us to bind the any kind of strong man no matter how long they had afflicted us and our loved ones: Without joy, we cannot render acceptable praise to the Lord. When we render praise that the Lord accepts, we can bind the strongman. Believe me, joyful praise is a sure means of binding the strongman; disarming him and spoiling his house – Luke 11:21-22; Ps.149:1-9.
5. The joy of the Lord is the strength of the believer in all walks of life. Neh.8:10. Remember that last week; we established that joy is a gift of God and that he delivers this gift to us by the Holy Spirit in His manifestation as the Spirit of might[Isa.11:2]. This explains why the joy of the Lord is our strength. It provides us strength that enables us to deliver on the favour that God brings our way. For example, if you are favoured with a good job and lack the strength to accomplish it, the favor given to you would lose value and you may never have another chance at it again. So the spirit of might which presents in unspeakable joy provides the drive or momentum required to stay on the work until it is completed. This is what Joseph had going for him that made him become prime minister in Egypt and delivered on his job eventually with excellence. See Gen.41:38-44.
6. Joy facilitates access to revelation: in Isa.12:3, the Holy Spirit reveals to us by the prophet that joy is the bucket with which we draw from the depths if revelation from God. It takes revelation knowledge for one to gain access to the top in life. This is why Apostle Paul who was so distinguished among his peers said in Gal.2:2 that he went up by revelation. See also Deu.29:29 and Prov.20:5. Understanding is only available to us by divine revelation which we receive on the platform of joy.
For want of time, we will stop here today. Next week, we shall continue this series by looking at helpers of our joy. Meanwhile, Access to this grace was freely available to man until the devil came in to mess things up by luring man into sin which resulted in his separation from God [Gen.3; Rm.3:23 and 6:23]. Thankfully, the Lord Jesus Christ already came to solve the sin problem for us. However, we are required to embrace His sacrifice by believing in Him and receiving God’s free gift of salvation through faith. See John 3:16-18.
If you have not yet received this free gift, you can do so right away by saying the following prayer out loud in faith and you shall be saved:
Heavenly Father,
Have mercy on me a sinner. Today, I believe that Jesus died for me and you raised Him from the dead for my Justification. I therefore declare that Jesus Christ is my Saviour and Lord and from today, I renounce the fatherhood of Satan and embrace Jesus Christ as my Saviour and Lord. Thank you for this father in Jesus’ name! Amen.

Spiritual Growth series Session 2 Lesson 5

Understanding how to grow up spiritually
Session 2 Lesson 5
Growing in Intimacy with God
IntroductionFour weeks ago, we introduced this segment of our series with the truth about the fall of man from grace in the Garden of Eden and the new challenge which is the spiritual death from which God had to raise man. About two thousand years ago on the Cross of Calvary, this problem was solved when the Lord said in John 19:30 “…It is finished…” as He hung on the Cross.
Last week, we continued to see the eternal effects of this simple sentence made by the Son of God on Calvary’s Cross in our favour. We began to look at the benefits of making a decision for Christ. We saw some benefits and we continue this week to look at more benefits.
1. Man becomes an ambassador if Christ – As an ambassador of Christ; we can liken what we are now to that of a natural ambassador to any nation who enjoys diplomatic immunity and the freedom to move from nation to nation at the expense of his nation. Every time we preach the gospel, we enforce our covenant right to divine diplomatic immunity and provision.  2Cor.5:20 and Matthew 28:18-19.
2. Man becomes a king and priest of God and ordained to reign with Christ in the earth – Rev.1:5-6; Rev.5:9-10 and Rom.5:17. We receive the right to royalty in God’s family and also priesthood. As priests, we can represent God to people and intercede on behalf of people to God. As kings, we can reign in the earth with Christ to establish God’s dominion everywhere we are.
3. Man is now ordained to bear abiding fruits – Jn.15:16 and Rm.7:4. The entire purpose of God in creating man in the first place is for us to bear fruit until we grow to exercise dominion in the earth. After the fall of man due to sin, God solved the sin problem and insisted that we are to bear fruits that would abide. In this way, God has reemphasized that His reason for making us and recreating us in Christ Jesus is for us to be fruitful until we exercise dominion on earth. See Gen.1:26-28 – When we grow to the point where we reign with Christ in the earth, this mission is being accomplished.
4. Man now receives and walks in Eternal life – Jn.17:1-4 and Jn.5:24. Through the new birth experience, we now receive and walk in eternal life. Note that eternal life is not a place; it is a relationship. The experiential knowledge of Christ and God the father is what the Lord Jesus Christ defines as eternal life. The closer we get to God, the more of eternal life we walk in and demonstrate. When this happens, the expectation of the entire creation groaning for the manifestation of the sons of God is actualized.
5. Man can therefore cultivate and grow in an intimate relationship with God that beats the imagination – Rm.8:14-17; Gal.5:16 and Ps.25:9. Man enters into fellowship with God better than Adam had in the Garden of Eden where he can cultivate such an intimate relationship with God that God can actually treat him as his friend. This is the kind of experience that Abraham had when God took the time to confide in him and later referred to him as his friend. See Isa.41:8.
6. God now dwells in man and that makes Him the closest person to man – 2Cor.6:16 and Heb.8:10-12. By the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in us, the closest person to each one who is born again now is the Holy Spirit. Whether or not you enjoy this closeness depends on your willingness to take responsibility to play your part to keep the relationship working.

Helpers of our joy

Theme: Understanding the importance of the Joy of the Lord
Topic: Helpers of our joy
Introduction2Cor.1:23-24:
Moreover I call God for a record upon my soul, that to spare you I came not as yet unto Corinth.
Not for that we have dominion over your faith, but are helpers of your joy: for by faith ye stand.
Last week we were looking at the benefits of joy in this series and we established that the joy of the Lord is so valuable that each of us should desire to flow in it. In our text here, we saw Paul referring to himself and Timothy as helpers of the Joy of the Church at Corinth. This means there are people and things that can help our joy. Another aspect of the importance of joy we are going to be looking at in this series therefore is the helpers of our joy. What are the things about life that help us to become and remain joyful so that we can continue to experience the benefits that the Joy of the Lord brings? We will look at some of them today to provoke us to research more from the word of God to find more hidden treasures that would help us in our quest for walking in the joy of the Lord.
The following are some of the helpers of our joy:
1. The word of God: The word of God is the revelation of what God says or imparts to the heart of men by the Holy Spirit. They are either written down like the scriptures [2Tim.3:16, 2Pet.1:19-21] or spoken to us directly in our hearts either audibly – Jn.15:11 or by the inward witness – Romans 8:16. The result of this is that the joy of the Lord is released into our hearts to confirm that it is God who has spoken to us. When Jesus spoke to his disciples in John 15:11 about bearing fruits for the father, he brought this truth out clearly in relation to the connection between the joy of the Lord and bearing fruit in the kingdom of God. He said he spoke these words to them with the intention that His joy might remain in them and that their joy might be full. This makes the word of God a major helper of our joy because it not only gives you joy, it makes you full of joy.
2. Another helper of our joy is The Holy Spirit: He is not just a helper of our Joy for being God; He is the oil of Joy. In Isaiah 61:3, he is referred to as the oil of joy and has the capacity to destroy everything that causes a person to mourn. In other words, the Holy Spirit has the capacity in his ministry as to oil of joy to eliminate depression from the life of a person and replace it with divine strength. Like we saw last week, the joy of the Lord is our strength. Therefore, the oil of joy comes to strengthen us for the journey of faith and empowers us to take the journey to the end without weakening. In John 16:13, we are told that when the Spirit of truth is come, He shall guide us into all truth. When we are guided into all truth, we are guided into all the revelations of God. Therefore, we are guided into unspeakable joy because the truth revealed to us as we saw in the previous paragraph, causes the joy of the Lord to remain in us and makes us joyful.
3. Hope: This refers to the expectation of something good to come in the future. When we were looking at the definition of joy, we established that joy is the passion or emotion excited by the expectation of good. The expectation of good is hope. Where hope exists, joy is inevitable. This is why the bible tells us that the feet of those who bring us glad tidings are beautiful [Rm.10:15]. A major instrument that is used to convey hope is glad tidings. When that happens, people become joyful. For instance, in Acts 8:5-8; we are told that when Phillip took the gospel [or glad tidings or good news] to Samaria, the people received Christ and the result was that there was great joy in that City. Thus the preaching of Christ to the Samaritans helped them to come to a place of great joy. So if you want to be an instrument through which God would help people to rejoice, preach Christ to them.
4. Faith: Another helper of our joy is faith. Faith is acting on the expectation of the good resulting from the promise of God revealed to you. This is why Apostle Paul said in 2Cor.7:4 that they were joyful in all their tribulations. They were acting in faith on the word that the Lord Jesus Christ taught them in Matthew 5:11-12 where is said that they should consider themselves blessed when men shall persecute and revile them and even say all manner of evil things against themfor his sake. He further said that they should rejoice and be glad in these circumstances for great is their reward in heaven. Thus every time our faith is tried through persecution, is a time of opportunity to rejoice. When we take advantage of this, it would help our joy.
5. People: People help our joy in various ways. As we saw in the previous paragraph, they can help our joy by persecuting us if we would maintain the right attitude in trials. On the other hand, they can help our joy by influencing us to be joyful through what they say to us and how they treat us. In John 15:11, the Lord told the disciples some things to cause His joy to remain in them and cause them to be joyful. There are some people who share the revelations of the word of God with you in such a way as to trigger joy in your heart in unimaginable ways. Remember that one of the main instruments God uses to bring us joy is revealed knowledge and he can convey this knowledge through human vessels. This is why Apostle Paul and Timothy referred to themselves as the helpers of the joy of the Church at Corinth. See 2Cor.1:1, 23-24.
We will stop here for today believing God for grace to be given to each of us by God to seek Him for more helpers of our joy from His word. Access to this grace was freely available to man until the devil came in to mess things up by luring man into sin which resulted in his separation from God [Gen.3; Rm.3:23 and 6:23].
